Nativities from Around the World – Free Community Event
A favorite holiday tradition returns to Cape Girardeau! “Nativities from Around the World” features hundreds of beautiful Nativity sets from many countries and cultures, each sharing the story of Christ’s birth in a unique way.

This free, family-friendly open house is wheelchair accessible with plenty of parking. Come feel the peace and joy of the Christmas season as you explore these inspiring displays.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — A treasured holiday tradition is returning to Cape Girardeau! “Nativities from Around the World” will once again open its doors to the community, sharing the beauty and spirit of Christmas through hundreds of Nativity sets from across the globe.
Hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this free community event will be held at the church’s temporary location, 1732 N. Kingshighway (just north of Lexington Avenue).
Open House Hours:
• Thursday & Friday, December 4 & 5: 3–7 p.m.
• Saturday, December 6: 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Visitors can enjoy browsing through hundreds of Nativities—each one a unique expression of faith and culture, made from materials like wood, clay, fabric, and glass. The display includes cherished pieces collected from around the world, each telling the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in its own artistic way.
The event is free, family-friendly, and wheelchair accessible, with plenty of convenient parking.
“Seeing how people from different cultures depict the same sacred story brings a wonderful sense of unity and peace,” said event organizers. “It’s a meaningful way to pause, reflect, and celebrate the true spirit of Christmas.”
